1. Commitment: Parent/Guardian and Participant agree to commit to the Team MEGA cheerleading program for the entire duration of the agreed-upon season, running from June 2024 to December 2024, or until the participating team concludes its playoff run. Practice sessions from June to August will be held Monday to Friday, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Games will take place on Saturdays or Sundays at specified times. Prompt attendance is mandatory for all sessions and events.

 

2. Attendance: Participant is expected to attend all practices, competitions, and events unless prevented by illness, injury, or extenuating circumstances. Any planned absences must be communicated in advance to the coaching staff. Pre-planned vacations must be communicated before May 30th, 2024, and are counted towards the allotted absences.

 

  • Practice Attendance:

  • Each cheerleader is allowed a maximum of five practice absences for the season.

  • Exceeding the allotted absences may result in removal from the team at the discretion of the coaches and directors, without refund.

  • Absence Notification:

  • All absences must be communicated to the coach at least 1 hour before the practice start time.

  • Failure to notify the coach within the specified time frame will be considered a no-show and may result in immediate removal from the team without refund.

 

3. Conduct: Participant and parents agree to conduct themselves respectfully and sportsmanlike at all times, including practices, competitions, events, social media interactions, and within the community. Any instances of bullying, harassment, or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated. Additionally:

  • Hostile approaches towards coaches are strictly prohibited.

  • Interference or interruption during practices or games is not allowed. If there is an immediate concern talk to a identified board member.

  • Slandering or defaming the organization, its board, or coaches will lead to removal from the team.

 

4. Safety: Safety is a top priority for Team MEGA. Parent/Guardian and Participant agree to adhere to all safety guidelines provided by the coaching staff. Participant must wear appropriate safety gear during practices and competitions. Additionally:

 

  • Participants must come prepared to practice, avoiding attire such as Crocs, jewelry, jeans, or inappropriate clothing.

  • Each participant must have a towel or yoga mat and water at all practices.

  • Failure to arrive prepared to practice will result in an absence.

 

5. Financial Obligations: Parent/Guardian agrees to fulfill all financial obligations associated with participation in the Team MEGA cheerleading program, including registration fees, uniform costs, competition fees, and any other expenses communicated by the MEGA organization. The Sideline Cheer costs $1125 and includes various items as outlined.

Specific financial considerations:

  • All fees are due in full by June 1st. Failure to meet the payment deadline will result in non-participation for the season.

  • Participation in fundraisers is mandatory to aid in fee payments.

  • The Newberry Scholarship is available for fee assistance, with an application deadline of April 30th. No Extensions

 

6. Communication :Parent/Guardian agrees to maintain open communication with the coaching staff regarding Participant's progress, concerns, or any other relevant matters. Team MEGA will provide regular updates on practice schedules, game schedules, competition dates, and other important information.

 

7. Media Release: Parent/Guardian grants MEGA the right to use photographs, videos, or other media of Participant for promotional or informational purposes related to the cheerleading program, including social media, websites, and print materials.

 

8. Termination: MEGA reserves the right to terminate Participant's involvement in the cheerleading program if they fail to adhere to the terms of this Agreement or engage in behavior deemed detrimental to the team or its members.

 

9. Acknowledgment: By Agreement, Parent/Guardian acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with all terms and conditions outlined herein on behalf of themselves and Participant.
